EPA Switches To Green Energy For Its Edison Facility

Bio Clean Fuel The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has switched to renewable energy to power its facility in Edison, N.J., and is encouraging New Jersey businesses and government agencies to also consider this move to reduce their environmental impact.

Green Energy UK is part of The Green Energy (UK) PLC and offers energy that is guaranteed not to come from certain sources, such as nuclear fuel.

Earth Bio Fuel Earlier this year, the agency announced that it was switching to 100-percent wind-generated electricity to supply the 6.2 million kilowatt-hours needed for its New York City offices.

ULSD was mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be sold at all retail pumps by October of 2006. This new fuel is a reduced sulfur content formula of diesel fuel. Sulfur content went from 50 parts per million (ppm) to 15 ppm in this new fuel. The reduction of sulfur is mandated to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions 2. Do new diesel engines require use of ULSD

Bio Flight Fuel Green Jb100 "Although we all need electricity to power our offices and facilities," said EPA Regional Administrator Jane Kenny, "we can reduce the impact that electricity has on the environment by choosing clean energy sources. I hope other companies and government entities in New Jersey will follow EPA's example and take this simple step toward cleaning our air."

Yes, ULSD fuels have a lower BTU value and thus when burned in a diesel engine will result in less power. Cetane enhanced products can offset this power loss. Cetane is a high energy compound that makes the fuel burn more completely in the combustion chamber, resulting in more power, reduced emissions, and improved fuel economy. Power Service diesel additives contain "+ Cetane Boost" to offset this power loss while also improving fuel economy and reducing emissions.

Bio Bio Fuel Less More Waste The 250-acre Edison facility is home to Region 2's Division of Science and Assessment, an EPA national laboratory, and several other offices. Approximately 500 employees and contractors work in six main buildings encompassing 330,300 square feet. EPA will procure electricity from Pepco Energy Services of Washington, D.C. EPA uses approximately 4.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually at its Edison facility.

The Western world’s energy watchdog has warned that the world will lurch from one energy crisis to another, unless governments switch from increased burning of fossil fuels to more nuclear, renewable and energy saving resources. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has forecast skyrocketing fuel prices, blackouts and supply disruptions as demand surges 50 per cent in the next 25 years. The major problem with energy is that we are running short of traditional sources of supply; basically we have plundered the planet of coal, gas and oil to drive our development.

Make Bio Fuel Pepco Energy Services will supply electricity generated from biomass energy or from burning methane created by landfills. The energy purchased by EPA was given a "Green-E" certification by the not-for-profit Center for Resource Solutions, which verifies that energy is from renewable sources.

Fuel refiners will be required to produce cleaner diesel fuel under the new rules, which the EPA proposed a year ago. Also, Cummins Inc., Caterpillar Inc. and others, starting in 2008, will have to build engines that strip out more harmful particles in emissions linked to asthma and other serious respiratory ailments. EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt was to brief President George W. Bush on the rules later on Monday and finalize the rules on Tuesday, the EPA said in a statement.

Bio Fuel Jb100 Jet Properties Ed Mayberry, President and CEO of Pepco Energy Services, said, "This contract reinforces the importance of working towards a healthier, cleaner America, and the federal government continues to take the lead in this endeavor. Pepco Energy Services is proud to participate in this effort by supplying our government facilities with electricity generated by renewable sources."

Fuel Cell Bio By switching to renewable sources, Region 2 will be avoiding the release of a number of emissions that would otherwise enter the atmosphere, including: sulfur dioxide, which contributes to acid rain; and nitrogen oxides, which are precursors to ground-level ozone and smog. Based on similar purchases from last year, Pepco Energy Services estimates that the energy purchased by EPA will reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 41,666 pounds annually compared to conventional electricity generation, 7,515 fewer pounds of nitrogen oxides and 835,336 fewer pounds of carbon dioxide.

Bio Conversion Fuel Nationally, more than 10 percent of EPA's electricity comes from renewable sources, which serve facilities in California, Colorado, Washington, Massachusetts and Ohio. EPA also developed the Green Power Partnership, a voluntary program that is working to make green-power purchasing a common business practice. Since the program began in the summer of 2001, 117 organizations have committed to green power for a total of 680 million kilowatt hours. Those purchases will help to remove 940 million pounds of carbon dioxide from the air, roughly the same amount absorbed by 130,000 acres of forest.
