Here, I am trying to take a slightly less passionate look at algae fuel. My goal is to provide a set of practical guides that allow anyone to come to logical conclusion about whether you should go out on your own.
That apart, I am beginning to wish there was other way to do it. It all started when I began building bigger and better to attract.
Our list of startups trying to squeeze fuel from pond scum is growing as quickly as an algal bloom. Today we can add AXI, a new startup spun out of the University of Washington TechTransfer program, which has scored an undisclosed amount of funding from Allied Minds, a seed investment firm. AXI says it has a technology that allows it to customize algal strains to its, or the distributors', liking.
