Holding tank treatments combine deodorants with germ killers to mask or eliminate offensive odors created as waste is broken down. They come in four basic formulations. Chemical treatments, the most common, kill bacteria immediately. They very effectively control odors by masking smells with deodorant. Although relatively inexpensive compared to other treatments, chemicals must be added regularly. They don t dissolve waste and are the least environmentally friendly. They can be added to tanks that contain other treatments without cleaning the tank. Enzyme treatments accelerate the digestion of organic materials in waste and neutralize odors at the same time. Their toxicity is extremely low, they re environmentally friendly and free of fragrances. They quickly and completely emulsify paper and sewage. They must be added regularly, work best in well-ventilated systems, and work well in hotter climates. Enzymes require a tank free of residuals of other treatment products. Nitrate treatmentsprovide an interesting alternative. Oxygen is vital to bacteria in the process of breaking down organic waste. When little air is present (as in most holding tanks), bacteria derives the oxygen from sulfates in the waste, which produces hydrogen sulfide (stinky!) gas. When nitrates are introduced, they act as nutrients for the bacteria, providing an alternative source of oxygen, which results in the production of nitrogen (odorless) gas. Nitrates are environmentally friendly, and are ideal for systems with less ventilation. They speed up the breakdown process and eliminate odors. The tank must be free of residuals from other products. Bio-active treatmentscontain live aerobic bacteria which break down waste, reproduce and crowd out anaerobic (odor-producing) bacteria. They, too, are environmentally friendly. Like enzymes, bio-active treatments emulsify paper and sewage completely. Unlike other treatments, they multiply and continue to work long after treatment is complete, eliminating the need to add more between pump outs. However, the microbes require a well-ventilated and residual free holding tank to survive. Although initially expensive, bio-active treatments become more cost effective over time because of bacteria propagation.

Wakeboard Size Chart
The length of a wakeboard is based on the weight of the rider. As a rider's skill increases, board length may change to suit their particular style of riding. Board length recommendations are given as a range, to take into account differing board widths. A wider board can be shorter for a given rider weight, while narrow boards should be longer for sufficient surface area.

Flags and Flag Staffs
For aesthetically pleasing proportions, we recommend a flag that is 1" long for every 1' of boat length. The staff should be twice the length of the flag vertical edge. For example, a 33' boat should fly a 24" x 36" yacht ensign (Model 5456934) on a 48" staff (Model 211557

Automatic bilge blower activation: Smart fuel fume detectors will set off an alarm, and start the bilge blower to extract harmful fumes, reducing the danger of explosion, especially when nobody is on board the vessel. Smart CO detectors: A carbon monoxide detector should be UL-listed, marine rated, and it should compute the time-weighted average of the CO concentration in the air to eliminate nuisance alarms. Audible and visible alarms: Look for gasoline vapor/propane gas detectors with both audible and visual alarms. Test buttons for the alarm are helpful in determining the functionality of the detector. A detector that properly detects fumes but doesn trigger an alarm is useless. Multi-channel monitoring: This function allows detectors to sniff for fumes in different cabins. Sensitivity: This is a bit of scientific mumbo-jumbo but very important so we l try to explain it in layman terms: You don want an alarm to go off a second before the concentration of harmful gasses reaches explosive level. Hence, gasoline, propane and CNG detectors are pre-programmed to alert you early, at 10 to 20 percent of the lower explosive limit (LEL). CO alarms will sound when they measure 70 particles of carbon monoxide per one million particles of air (PPM), well before the first symptoms of overexposure set in. Sensor mounting position: Install carbon monoxide detectors at or near eye level in each cabin but NOT near a hatch or porthole where water could come in contact with the device. Propane sensors don like water either, but they should be mounted low and near the appliance using propane (e.g. stove or heater). Gasoline sensors live in a dreary spot, just above slosh height in the bilge but no lower than the height of the starter solenoid in the bilge. CNG sensors, on the other hand, need to be mounted high, because this gas is lighter than air. Battery vs. hardwired: Detectors without power are pretty useless, therefore we recommend hardwired units that are always on and don need to have batteries replaced periodically. A power-indicator light that shows the detector is fully operational is also quite useful. To avoid CO overexposure

Yes, ULSD fuels have a lower BTU value and thus when burned in a diesel engine will result in less power. Cetane enhanced products can offset this power loss. Cetane is a high energy compound that makes the fuel burn more completely in the combustion chamber, resulting in more power, reduced emissions, and improved fuel economy. Power Service diesel additives contain "+ Cetane Boost" to offset this power loss while also improving fuel economy and reducing emissions.

ULSD was mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be sold at all retail pumps by October of 2006. This new fuel is a reduced sulfur content formula of diesel fuel. Sulfur content went from 50 parts per million (ppm) to 15 ppm in this new fuel. The reduction of sulfur is mandated to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions 2. Do new diesel engines require use of ULSD
