Automakers Race To Put Fuel-Cell Cars Up For Sale
Bio Clean Fuel Ford Motor Co. displayed a prototype of a -fuel-cell car in Denver on Wednesday - a pointer to the race among carmakers in Detroit and Japan to commercially launch the zero-emission cars as soon as possible.

Earth Bio Fuel The automaker has teamed up with London-based BP PLC to develop refueling stations for the hydrogen-powered cars, and it hopes to sell them through dealers by 2010.
The new Apex belt offers unparalleled support in two adult sizes. in bio foam kidney coverage and support.
Bio Flight Fuel Green Jb100 The display was part of the Hydrogen Education Tour, which will be at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver through Sunday. Denver-based media company HydrogenWorks is organizing the tour.

Bio Bio Fuel Less More Waste Fuel-cell technology is viewed as the most promising pollution-free technology. Car engines are powered by electricity generated through the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, with water as the only byproduct.
Yes, ULSD fuels have a lower BTU value and thus when burned in a diesel engine will result in less power. Cetane enhanced products can offset this power loss. Cetane is a high energy compound that makes the fuel burn more completely in the combustion chamber, resulting in more power, reduced emissions, and improved fuel economy. Power Service diesel additives contain "+ Cetane Boost" to offset this power loss while also improving fuel economy and reducing emissions.
Make Bio Fuel But there's one hitch: It's expensive.
ULSD was mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be sold at all retail pumps by October of 2006. This new fuel is a reduced sulfur content formula of diesel fuel. Sulfur content went from 50 parts per million (ppm) to 15 ppm in this new fuel. The reduction of sulfur is mandated to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions 2. Do new diesel engines require use of ULSD
Bio Fuel Jb100 Jet Properties "What the industry needs is a breakthrough in production cost and distribution cost of -fuel-cell," said Paul Taylor, chief economist at the Washington, D.C.-based National Automobile Dealers Association. "It is reasonable to bet that something could come along to lower the cost of hydrogen production, but we don't know what it is yet."
Fuel Cell Bio For instance, the fuel cell in the Ford prototype costs $65,000. Adding the powertrain, specially designed body parts and accessories could jack up the price by thousands of dollars.
Bio Conversion Fuel Aspen-based Rocky Mountain Institute founder Amory Lovins, whose research team is developing a low-cost, carbon-composite body to make lightweight cars, believes fuel- cell cars will be available as early as 2005.
Green Energy "I think at least six automakers will be either leasing or selling fuel-cell cars by 2005, and at least 10 more will be selling by 2010," Lovins said. "Carmakers have gambled billions on this technology; I believe fuel-cell will beat hybrid technology in the future."
Bio Ethanol Fuel Carmakers are racing against time to deliver the technology. For instance, more than 300 prototype vehicles have been built since the mid-1990s, according to Fuel Cell Today, an online news site.
Bio Clean Fuel General Motors Corp. aims to sell 1 million fuel-cell cars by 2020. It is investing one-quarter of all its research and development spending on fuel-cell development.
Earth Bio Fuel Japan's Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. became the first to put fuel-cell cars on the road last year, but the cars are only on lease since they still cost millions of dollars to produce.
Bio Flight Fuel Green Jb100 More than technology, what's needed is a collaboration between industry and governments to make the cars accessible by common buyers, said Robert Natkin, a Ford group leader for advanced engineering.
Bio Bio Fuel Less More Waste "Even if I was able to give you a fuel-cell car, where would you find fuel for it? Where would you park it?" Natkin asked, referring to the building codes and standards for garages that prohibit hydrogen fuel-cell cars. "Infrastructure should come about before industry can invest millions of dollars in such cars."
Make Bio Fuel Although oil companies such as Exxon Mobile and BP are working with carmakers to develop a distribution network, or refueling stations, the path is fraught with difficulties.
Bio Fuel Jb100 Jet Properties "On the fuel side, one of the challenges is to make it affordable for the public," said Carol Battershell, BP's director of alternative fuels. "Another important thing is getting the public to want it. Education and awareness are important aspects of the fuel-cell initiative."
